What would VP cookies look like?

So did everyone catch the VP debate last night? Interesting folks, aren’t they? Both of them are focused on family. They’ve both had personal challenges to overcome. There are differences, of course.

Biden has been a dedicated public servant for Delaware in the US Senate since 1972. He has served as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the Caucus on International Narcotic Control. He has also served on several subcommittees including Crime and Drugs, Human Rights and the Law and Immigration, Border Security and Refugees.

Palin, on the other hand, has only been in politics for 16 years. She first entered as a city council member in Wasilla, Alaska running on the platform of wanting to make sure tax money wasn’t being wasted.  She rose to mayor in 1996, becoming one of the highest paid mayors in the nation. Palin jumped on the fast track ~ became governor in 2006 and now….. So, she went from mayor of a small city of 6,000 to one heartbeat away from the most powerful position on earth in just two years!!! Whew! I’m surprised she hasn’t broken her neck from the speed!

So how does all of this translate to baked goods? Well, what, do you suppose, Vice Presidential cookies would look like? I have a theory! (I know, you’re shocked!) I believe the Biden cookie would be quite thick, full of a variety of ingredients, well-baked, perhaps a little crispy from it’s length in the oven….In fact, it may even be closer to a biscuit. Warm…seems overdone….but delicious and very satisfying.

On the other hand, a Palin cookie would be made of only two or three ingredients, hastily prepared leaving the batter quite lumpy, and baked at a high temperature for a very short time. What you’re left with is a very thin, bland cookie, burnt around the edges but runny on the inside. Hot…interesting at first….but tasteless and not fulfilling in the least.

Food for thought.
