Mother’s Day is May 10!!

Are you still thinking….what should I get for Mom this year for Mother’s Day??  Why not some goodies from Ryke’s?

Our Italian Quiche and assorted Danishes would make a wonderful breakfast for Mom.  And buy some fresh roasted coffee beans from Schuil Coffee to make the meal complete!

A tray of goodies for Mom to nibble on would be a great surprise.  Princess Di Pastries, Chocolate Cake Truffles and our signature Pecan Diamonds are a wonderful treat!

Perhaps the best surprise of all for Mom would be your own artwork on a cake.  That’s right!  You or your children can design Mom’s cake!!  Using bright colors and your imagination - design a message on an 8-1/2 x 11 piece of paper.

Bring your masterpiece into the bakery and order Mom’s cake.  We will then scan your artwork into our computer and print the image on sugar paper - creating an edible image.  We can do this for just $7 added to the price of your cake.  Stop in today and make magic happen!

Hoodie Hoo Day!!??

I know what you’re thinking….What’s Hoodie Hoo Day? It is a holiday celebrated in the Northern Hemisphere on February 20. This observance has an interesting hook. It’s filled with hoopla and causes a real hoop-de-doo. It’ll have you dancin’ a hootchie-kootchie as if you were hoofin’ it at a hootenanny!

Seriously, Hoodie Hoo Day is an invitation to Spring. In an effort to chase away the Winter blues and get Spring to feel welcome, folks dress in warm weather gear, step outside at high noon, wave their hands overhead and yell “Hoooooooodie Hoooooooo!”. Even if you don’t give a hoot about Spring or think that this sounds like a lot of hooey, by hook or by crook get yourself to Ryke’s on Friday, February 20 by 12:00 noo-hoon. But…I digress.

At this time of year, most people are eager to see the snow melt and sun shine again. Ryke’s is happy to celebrate all of the unusual and joyous moments in life. They have celebrated such things as Talk Like a Pirate Day and Be Bald and Be Free Day - why not Hoodie Hoo Day? Owners Butch and Renee Rouwhorst and their staff invite you to join in the fun. Don’t be a hooligan and play hookey to join the hoo ha and end up in the hoosegow. So, whether you’re a Hoosier, a hoodlum or Hootie and the Blowfish, throw on your favorite hoodie and hoof it on down to Ryke’s Bakery, Catering and Cafe. I apologize. I, once again, got carried away.

Ryke’s Bakery, Catering and Cafe, located at 1788 Terrace Street at Laketon Avenue in Muskegon, invite you to join them for the celebration of Northern Hemisphere Hoodie Hoo Day on Friday, February 20. From 11am-1pm, you can enjoy a free fountain beverage with any lunch purchase. At high noon, staff and patrons alike will be encouraged to step outside, wave their arms overhead and bid farewell to Winter with a hardy “Hoooooodie Hoooooooo!”. For more information visit Ryke’s on the web at www.rykes.com.

It would behoove you to join in the hoopla. (sorry)
